www.nls.uk/maps/towns/reform/index.html are pages on The National Library of Scotland website devoted to 'Great Reform Act Plans and Reports' from 1832, showing detailed maps and reports of 75 towns in Scotland for the purposes of implementing the Reform Act (Scotland) of 1832.

www.abandonedcommunities.co.uk is a website by Stephen Fisk about places and settlements which been abandoned, some at a single point in time, while others have been gradually depopulated until there was no-one left. In some cases the forces of nature have made a major contribution to the abandonment, but more often economic and social changes have caused people to move away, or the decision of a powerful individual, organisation, or government has compelled inhabitants to leave. The fact that some of the abandoned communities were lost in the 20th century and were, right up until their demise, thriving in their own way, adds to the site's value.
